Alan is a Londoner who has lived and worked in Central & Eastern Europe for the past 25 years. He is a member of the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing, holder of the Association’s Post-graduate Diploma and Programme Director at the International Business School in Budapest. For his contribution to education he has been awarded Honorary Professorships from a further two Hungarian Colleges.

A former Regional Director of the World Travel & Tourism Council, he has received international awards for his work in Customer Care training and is a noted international conference speaker on this and other related Marketing Management subjects. He is currently Regional Director of Pearson-LCCI, responsible for the administration of Business English examinations in the area, a role which includes teacher and examiner training.

In 1996, following design and implementation of the ‘Mirror Mirror’ Customer Care Program for American Express, during which over 2500 front-line staff were trained, Alan formed GB Resources Kft to deliver international-level training in soft skills. Since that time, he has trained staff at many multinational companies across Europe and major national organisations in Hungary, including The Ford Motor Company, Metro, Emerson Network Power, Allison Transmissions and American Express in Germany, France, Norway, UK, Romania and Hungary, as well as undertaking training and consultancy work for the European Union in Russia and the Ukraine. His specialised areas of Training include Presentation Skills, Effective Negotiations, Customer Care, Cross Cultural Communication and Marketing & Sales.

Alan lives in Budapest, is married, with two children and enjoys travel and photography, two interests which combine well with his active and mobile lifestyle.
